Consultation on the Revenue and Financing Policy Review ended at 5pm, Friday 9 April 2021.
On Tuesday 29 June 2021, Council will formally adopt the Revenue and Financing Policy. The public are welcome to attend this meeting.
Policy comes into effect 1 July 2021.
Our Revenue and Financing Policy has been reviewed as part of the preparation of the 2021 – 2031 Long Term Plan. This policy deals with the revenue and financing decisions taken at both an activity level and a “whole of Council” level. It documents our high level rating philosophy and summarises the rationale for the rating decisions taken. We have considered the distribution and timing of benefits, rating efficiency and transparency, community preferences and the overall impact on the economic, cultural, social and environmental well-being of our District.
The purpose of reviewing the Revenue and Financing Policy is to inform and align with the development of the Long Term Plan.
Have your say before 5pm, Friday 9 April 2021.
Key changes proposed in the draft policy:
The overall policy has not significantly changed, however there are a number of specific changes. These include:
General changes (such as specify a range for funding splits and removing outdated references);
Changes have been made to specific activities to reflect Council direction and the content of the LTP 2021-2031 supporting documentation (such as changed goals, updated activities, revenue splits).
The full proposed changes to the Revenue and Financing Policy are set out in the draft policy.
