Thank you for taking an interest in how we deal with our waste (rubbish) in the Western Bay. We're going through your opinions and ideas. And we'll get back to you with what you told us and how you can take part again when the draft waste plan is out for statutory consultation later in the year.
Collectively as a District we have a ‘Waste Minimisation and Management Plan’ which determines how we manage waste, and our efforts to minimise the amount going to landfill.
We need to review our current plan – but before we create a draft we want your help in showing us what YOU think should be in it. This includes things like:
How can we best reduce the amount of waste going to landfill?
Is our current user-pays rubbish pick up system working for you? How could it be better?
Should we have drop-off stations in rural areas?
Would you rather pay a rate for Council to manage waste collection for you?
What we really want is for you to be a part of these decisions. You can do this by filling out the survey below. Information on key topics up for discussion can be found in the document library if you want more detail.
Your responses will help us create a draft plan that we’ll bring back out for your thoughts later this year.
Thank you!
