About the project
Katikati's creative hub is getting some much-needed attention, with weather-damaged parts of the Arts Junction building being repaired. This is an important investment to protect the building and make sure it continues to serve the community well into the future.
The work will fix issues primarily affecting the front entranceway and southern wall and will see the glass entranceway permanently removed.
The building will stay open throughout the repairs, with access through the back door entrance - just follow the signs!
The repair work started in April 2025 is expected to be completed by the end of August 2025.
What's happening now? (14 May)
The glass entrance canopy has now been removed, and work has started to dismantle the facade at the front of the building.
Next, the southern wall will come down and the garden will be lowered. After that, the roof glass will be taken out and the roof refixed and repainted, before a new south wall and entrance are built.
