Ideas required for Island View Reserve Barbeque and Play Activities Project
Public engagement has closed for the Island View Reserve Playground and BBQ Project (at 4.00pm Monday 17 February 2020).
The next steps are:
Staff are collating feedback through Council’s Have Your Say Western Bay site as well as via emails, in addition to the feedback received at the Have Your Say event on 1st February at the Reserve.
An analysis of all the feedback will be done over the next few weeks.
From there staff will work on both a feedback report and a draft concept design plan which will go to Council and the Waihi Beach Community Board for discussion and approval.
Following approval, the draft concept design plan will go out for engagement to get feedback from the public again on what they think about it.
The timings of this are still to be confirmed, but staff are looking at a feedback report and a draft concept design plan ready for discussion and approval with Elected Members around May 2020.
On Saturday and Sunday, 1-2 February, Western Bay of Plenty District Council is holding two days of community engagement for people to share their views as to the types of play activities, and the layout of facilities that can be added to Island View Reserve at Waihi Beach.
The Island View Reserve Barbeque and Play Activities Project was captured in the Katikati-Waihi Beach Ward Reserve Management Plan (2018), which is included in Council’s Long Term Plan (2018-2028).
