Welcome to the Draft Easter Sunday Shop Trading Policy - we would like to hear your thoughts on our draft policy.
Summary of what's proposed:
The draft policy enables shops to open on Easter Sunday throughout the District
Shops would only open if they wish to
Employees would be entitled by law to refuse to work on Easter Sunday
Shop trading on Good Friday would continue to be restricted
The policy would not affect existing alcohol licensing requirements for any shop
If Council decides to adopt a final policy, it will be in place in time for Easter 2018.
