About the project
We're making some improvements to Tetley Road in Katikati. The rehabilitation project - which started in mid-February - will enhance safety, improve drainage and provide a better road surface.
The $1.3m project is part of our District-wide road rehabilitation programme and is funded by Council and the NZ Transport Agency.
J.Swap Contractors Limited will be carrying out the construction.
The work is expected to be complete by the end of August 2025.
Key upgrades include:
Full pavement excavation and reconstruction
Left turn bays for turning into Matuku Place and Friis Drive
Kerbing and channels
Drainage
Reinstating driveways
UPDATE: 9 July 2025
Work on the southern section of Tetley Road has progressed well, with the road now built up to its final level. We're currently waiting on a good stretch of dry weather so we can complete the chipseal surface. Driveway, footpath, and berm works are also ongoing in this area.
In the northern section, we’ve laid and cement-treated the first road surface layer. Once the weather allows, we’ll move ahead with laying and compacting the final layer before chipsealing this section too.
Thanks for your patience as we continue progressing this work.
