About the project
We're making some improvements to Tetley Road in Katikati. The rehabilitation project - which started in mid-February - will enhance safety, improve drainage and provide a better road surface.
The $1.3m project is part of our District-wide road rehabilitation programme and is funded by Council and the NZ Transport Agency.
J.Swap Contractors Limited will be carrying out the construction.
The work is expected to be complete by June 2025.
Key upgrades include:
Full pavement excavation and reconstruction
Left turn bays for turning into Matuku Place and Friis Drive
Kerbing and channels
Drainage
Reinstating driveways
UPDATE: 8 May 2025
We're temporarily closing a section of Tetley Road while our team completes road rehabilitation work including new watermain connections and pavement renewal excavation. The section between SH2 and Rereatukahia Pa Rd will be closed for roughly a week from Tuesday 13 May (weather dependant). The closure is during working hours only - 7am to 5pm.
There will be a signed detour through Marshall Road during the closures. Residents will have access to their properties at all times.
