LEVEL TWO, THE COMMUNITY QUEST, IS COMPLETE!

Thanks to everyone who took part in the quest. We’ve reviewed the community’s feedback and you can read the results here: Community Quest Feedback Summary

An update on traffic congestion: One message has come through strongly in your feedback. Congestion in town, particularly along Jellicoe Street, is a major concern for the community. In response, we’re working on a dedicated transport study to investigate possible solutions and better understand how people and traffic move around Te Puke now and into the future.

Welcome player. You’ve entered the fruitful world of Te Puke.

A town built on hard work, strong community spirit, and deep connections to the land.

A place where people know each other, where sport and culture thrive, and where the Kiwifruit Capital of the World continues to grow.

But as the years pass, the story is shifting…

More homes. More people. More pressure on the roads, parks, services and spaces that make Te Puke what it is.

To navigate what lies ahead, a new plan is needed. One that doesn’t just react – but guides, protects and prepares.

Enter: The Spatial Plan.

We need your help to develop a plan that determines how your much loved town grows and evolves over the next 30–50 years.

Picture this: It’s 2055 and you’re living in Te Puke. What’s it like? What can you see and do? What makes this place feel like home?

This is a challenge that can only be completed with the unique ideas, experiences and local knowledge of the people who call this place home.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Make a place future generations will thank you for.

The future’s in play. It’s your move.

LEVEL MENU

LEVEL ONE: SCOUT MODE – COMPLETE

The first round of engagement explored what people love about Te Puke, what they want to protect, and what they want the future of the town to look like. This helped identify the key issues, opportunities and priorities shaping the next stage of work.

LEVEL TWO: COMMUNITY QUEST – COMPLETE

Every player gets their chance to explore the big topics and tell us what’s most important to you. Join the Quest and, together, we can beat the level. Key topics include transport, housing, and community facilities like the library and swimming pool.

LEVEL THREE: DRAFT MISSION – LOCKED

Once the first round of community input is gathered, we’ll create a Community Ideas Forum to help develop the Draft Spatial Plan. This is where strategies start taking shape and your feedback is mapped out.

LEVEL FOUR: THE OPTIMISER – LOCKED

The draft plan is live. Now it’s time for all players to jump in, test what’s being proposed, and tell us what you really think. Your input here helps prepare the plan for final deployment.

LEVEL FIVE: FINAL BOSS – LOCKED

Final level reached. The Spatial Plan is officially adopted by Council, and the moves you’ve made will help guide Te Puke for decades to come.

P.S. We are working on a number of Spatial plans for our communities, which you can view here: Katikati, Te Puna and Minden, and Waihī Beach, Bowentown and Athenree.
