We’re reviewing our Public Places Bylaw and want to hear from you.

This bylaw sets the rules for activities in public places, helping keep shared spaces safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone. This includes things like damage to public facilities, managing safety and obstructions, waste and fences, as well as advertising and vehicle crossings.

Council regularly reviews its bylaws to make sure they’re still effective. We reviewed this bylaw in 2025 and found that it is generally working as intended, with some minor updates made. But before making a final decision, we’re checking in to make sure it’s still appropriate for our community.

What’s being proposed?

We’re proposing to continue the Public Places Bylaw as it is, including the minor updates made in 2025. No further changes are proposed.

Keeping the bylaw provides clarity and certainty. It helps protect public places, supports public safety, and ensures Council can respond when issues arise in shared spaces.

Your feedback is important to us

Let us know if you think the bylaw should stay as it is, be changed, or be removed.

Consultation closes at 4pm, Thursday 2 July 2026.
