We’re getting ready to upgrade ageing water pipes in your area to make sure Katikati’s town centre continues to have safe, reliable drinking water and strong infrastructure for years to come.
What’s happening?
We've contracted Loveridge Ltd to replace around 550 metres of watermain along Kotahi Lane. Starting in early August 2025, work will begin behind the Western Bay Museum, then progress along Kotahi Lane, Kaimai Lane, Birch Lane, and finish at Patricia Place. We'll be installing a new, larger watermain which will improve water pressure and support future growth.
The work is expected to take around 12 weeks to complete (weather dependent).
What to expect
While this work is underway, you may notice:
Construction crews working along road reserves and footpaths
Temporary footpath closures and changes to parking
Traffic delays near the State Highway 2 intersections
Disruptions around the playground and reserve at 36 Main Road (behind the information centre)
Temporary impacts to parking in front of businesses at 58 Main Road
Water shutdowns (we’ll let you know ahead of time)
The site will be active Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm, and Saturdays from 8am to 4pm. We’ll do our best to minimise disruption and keep everyone informed throughout the works.
Traffic and safety
Traffic management will be in place. Please follow signage and directions from crew members on site - your safety and the safety of our team is our top priority.
