My principal place of residence is in the Kaimai West Community Board Subdivision area. I'm proud of the skills and experience I bring to this role. Our ward is home to many retired and current businesspeople, individuals who’ve weathered triumphs and trials, building legacies and shaping futures for their families. We’ve done this together, in harmony. One of my greatest strengths is connecting with people across backgrounds, ethnicities, traditions, religions, and walks of life. I’ve spent over 30 years in social services, helping people return to work after injury. That meant navigating diverse cultures, languages, and industries to earn trust and deliver results. I’ve seen how the strength of the majority can uplift the whole community, not just a sector or a select few. While not every outcome was perfect, those who didn’t succeed often needed more support. I believe in a cohesive community, guided by shared values and goals. I’m committed to fostering unity and helping every member of our region to thrive.

My principal place of residence is in the Kaimai West Community Board Subdivision area. Kia ora. I’m standing for the Kaimai West Community Board to be a strong local voice because I believe connected communities create better futures for everyone. As a long-time resident, I’ve seen both the challenges we face and the untapped potential in our area. Roading, limited services, and protecting land and waterways are real issues that demand local leadership. I bring practical experience - not just in local government, but across a range of industries - along with common sense and a genuine commitment to listening. I will be a visible, approachable board member - communicating openly and working collaboratively to deliver results. This is our community - let’s shape its future together. I’m asking for your vote to bring energy, integrity, action, and a fresh perspective to the board. Let’s build a community that works for everyone. Vote Cherie Palm - Local Voice, Focused on Future.
