Island View Reserve - Draft Concept Design Plan for a new playground and barbeque
Engagement on the draft concept design plan has concluded.
The next steps are:
- Go through all feedback received.
- Produce a final design plan.
- Council decision/ratification on the final design.
Council will communicate the final decision in the coming months on our website and social media channels.

Background:
The concept plan follows Council hosting a fun open day at the reserve earlier this year to get people’s ideas on where the facilities could be located and what features would be most used and appreciated by the community in the reserve.
It is intended that the playground and barbeque will complement the existing reserve and be both a fun and accessible place for everyone.
Proposed features of the playground include:
- Bike rack
- Buried treasure
- Climbing slope
- Drinking water station
- Junior climb
- Junior slide
- Paved path
- Shade sails
- Spinner
- Swing
- Terraced seats.
Proposed features of the BBQ include:
- Covered shelter
- Food prep area
- Paved path
- Seating
- Twin cook-top barbeque unit.
