The Heartwood Avenue pedestrian bridge is a key component of the Ōmokoroa Road urbanisation efforts, designed to connect Heartwood Avenue to Tui Glen. This project aims to enhance the connectivity and accessibility of the local community, promoting safer and more convenient pedestrian travel.

What's happening now?
31 March 2025
For the next stage of construction, our teams will be transporting very large precast concrete beams onto the site. These beams will be transported by a large truck, assisted by pilot vehicles to safely guide the load. Special temporary traffic management will be in place to ensure road user safety during this process.
There are three planned dates for these loads to be transported in:
Heartwood Ave - Tuesday 1 April between 6am and 12pm
Tui Glen - Tuesday 8 April between 6am and 12pm
Tui Glen - Thursday 24 April between 6am and 5pm
The route that will be affected is shown below:
To celebrate piling work being completed and to thank residents in the surrounding areas for their patience during the drilling phase, we invited them to join the project team for a coffee and walk-through of the site on Saturday 29 March. Thanks to everyone for coming!
