Consultation has concluded. Thank you for your feedback. Council will consider this as part of its
decision-making process. We will be in touch at the end of June 2019 to let you know the decisions
that are made.
Western Bay of Plenty District Council adopted its 2019/20 Annual Plan today setting an average rates increase of 3.1 percent, slightly less than last year’s increase of 3.6 percent.
The increase, of which inflation accounts for 2.2 percent maintains Council’s Long Term Plan (2018-2028) pledge to keep total rate increases below four percent (excluding population growth) for existing ratepayers over the 10 years from 2018-2028.
Council's total rates are proposed to increase by 3.45 percent for the 2019/20 year. This is less than the average of 3.6 percent forecast for 2019/20 through the 2018-2028 Long Term Plan. Council is consulting on changes to targeted rates and to allow early payment of some capital cost recovery targeted rates.
Feedback closes 4pm, Thursday 18 April 2019
KEY CHANGES PROPOSED IN THE DRAFT ANNUAL PLAN:
Several new rates are proposed to come into effect in 2019/20. These apply to specific areas and only impact those ratepayers.
These proposed new rates include the Te Puna Hall, Te Puna West Wastewater, Ongare Point Wastewater, rural water supply extension at Black Road and rural water supply extension at Woodland Road.
A change to our debt management approach.
