Consultation has concluded
We're kicking off the review of our Kaimai Ward Reserve Management Plan and want to hear your thoughts on how the spaces where we play, explore, and unwind can be enhanced.
With rapid growth in the Kaimai Ward, it’s time to reimagine how our reserves serve the community now and in the future. This is your chance to help us create spaces that are welcoming, sustainable, and ready for generations to come.
You and your community know these spaces the best, and we want your ideas to be at the heart of this plan.
With close to 50 unique reserves -ranging from playgrounds and sportsgrounds to bush trails and scenic spots for picnics, this plan will shape how we care for these spaces for the next nine years.
This plan aims to provide guidelines for managing our reserves, including maintenance, new projects, funding, and eco-friendly development. It will also include plans for conservation, sustainable biodiversity, and recreation, while preserving cultural and historical values.
There are a number of stages to this review process.
Stage 1: This is the first stage of the review process, where your feedback will be used to develop our new draft Reserve Management Plan for this Ward.
Stage 2. The next stage is for the community to have their say on those new draft plans in the coming New Year. Following this the information received will help inform the final plan.
